The limbs are cast entirely in pine resin and crushed charcoal. Pine trees produce the resin (which I collect from the ground) to seal wounds from broken limbs or injury. The charcoal I collect from the pits where I burn the wood to fire ceramics, cook, or warm my own body. The Phantom Limbs are trees re-formed from their own alchemized matter.
